Nach vielen verschiedenen Entwürfen ist der Digital VCA MKIII die endgültige Version des sehr umfangreichen VCA der Firma WMD. 

Der digitale VCA lässt das Signal wie ein normaler VCA durchlaufen, aber die CV und der Abschwächungspegel werden digital gesteuert. Dadurch ist es z.B. möglich, mit der Amplitudenänderung auf den Nulldurchgang zu warten, was zu klick freien Amplitudenänderungen führt.
